QUEEN OF HEARTS SAILS ATLANTIC RALLY FOR CRUISERS AS FIRST SCANDINAVIAN BOAT WITH ALL FEMALE CREW

For the first time in the history of Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, a Norwegian boat with an all female crew will participate in the regatta this year.
Siri J. Laurendz (58), from Oslo, will skipper the 44-feet Lagoon catamaran “Queen of Hearts” and lead a group of women, mainly from Norway, but also from Denmark and Italy.

Queen of Hearts is owned by the Norwegian skipper and boat charter operator Morten Wichstrøm of Caribbean Sailing Club, Oslo (www.caribbeansailingclub.com ), who is going to add this totally new catamaran to his fleet.

Skipper Siri J. Laurendz is a partner in WestMar Marin AS which is located in Asker, near Oslo.
She is a sailing instructor and arranges sailing courses exclusively for women. These are very popular and well known in all of Norway.
Siri's sailing experience is lifelong. She started sailing small keelboats when she was a child of seven and has participated in numerous regattas with all female crews. She has amongst others crossed the North Sea.
